I’ve been using Summify for the last couple of weeks as a way of keeping up-to-date with the latest conversations on the social networks. I’m letting you know about it since I’ve found it quite handy since:
- Just 5 stories - delivered by Email once a day - helps counter information overload 🙂
- Relevant stories are shared by people I'm connected to who I trust
- Often turns up an interesting story or piece of advice I’ve missed elsewhere
- Looks good but more important learns through what you click on
Summify have a post here explaining how it works. They say:
The Summify algorithms use dozens of signals, but in general news that has been shared, liked and retweeted a lot by your friends is considered more important. However, not all of your friends are equal and we pay special attention to those who you interact with more.
Global popularity signals such as the total number of times a link is tweeted, or liked and shared on Facebook are also considered, but are less important than the sharing activity of the people closest to you.

So, I find Summify saves me time and it’s fun to see what folks I’m connected to are sharing.
If I’m not able to take a look at my RSS feeds or Twitter Lists I still prefer
LinkedIn Today for a quick summary although its results are from a limited number of site. LinkedIn today is also worth checking out if you’re not aware of it.
Do you use any similar filtering tools to keep you up-to-date.
